Why We Love the Church

Another excellent book by Kevin DeYoung and Ted Kluck. It gives ear to the real dissatisfaction people have concerning the church, while at the same time reminding all of us that the church (even the imperfect human institutions called congregations, or local churches) is the Bride of Christ.

Ordained!

Last Saturday, October 31st, I was ordained as a minister of the Word and Sacrament in the CRC! It was a beautiful service, I'm grateful to pastors John Ooms, Cecil VanNiejenhuis, Bob DeMoor, Terry Stauffer and Steve Rigby for their involvement and presence at the service. Renee was incredibly patient and supportive of me through the years. I couldn't have done it with out her. 'm especially grateful to God for His faithfulness and I will continue to depend on Him. I am privileged to serve the Edson-Peers Christian Reformed Church. She is a wonderful congregation who has supported us tremendously. Praise God!

Stand To Reason

For the last two weeks, Greg Koukl from Stand To Reason, was a guest on the White Horse Inn. Check it out by following the link. Greg has written a new book on apologetics called "Tactics". His website is full of information which is helpful for discussing Christianity with people.

Humility

Humility is always considering others as better than yourself. It means being willing to submit to authority even if that authority is imperfect, incompetent or even inquisitorial. It means being like Christ.
